Bhutan is a myterious and magical country; Mountains and Greenery everywhere. I fell in love with this country right from the time we landed at the only international airport of Bhutan in Paro. The crisp mountain air, blue skies and the scenery were a treat to eyes as well as the lungs.
I visited during the month of April and Thinley, the Tour Operator suggested me to include the annual Rhododendron festival and tailored my itinerary to fit in this event which was one of the best decisions. The place where the festival was held (Below Dochu La Pass) was a natural habitat for various Rhododendron plants and trees. It was an exhilarating event with brilliant and attractive Rhododendron flowers on the trees, plants and abundant flowers on the ground which was so beautiful, almost looked like a flower carpet.
Following the flower festival we continued to Punakha Dzong and to the Paro Taktsang on my second last day. Taktsang was my prime interest in visitng Bhutan and I was not disappointed, it was even more spectacular than in the pictures that I have seen. It was an awesome trip and everything was arranged so well by Thinley and everything went so smoothly.
I plan to visit Bhutan again and next time I will be exploring the Central part of Bhutan, Bumthang.
